STOP THE WAR
Dissidenty.org was founded in 2022 after the unilateral invasion by the Russian Federation of its neighbor Ukraine, in violation of all long-standing agreements, treaties and international accords.
Immediately after February 24, brave protestors in most major cities throughout the Russian Federation took to the streets to face brutal arrest by the government, ordered to pay stiff fines, and, in some cases, condemned to long jail sentences.
We are raising funds to pay the legal expenses of those facing trial in a judicial environment that has changed little since the days of the USSR.
We encourage the dissidents protesting an unjustifiable war, brought on by the whims of one man, who has overstayed his welcome.
DISSIDENTS
Russia, in Czarist, Soviet, and modern times, has a history of civil disobedience and dissidence attempting to effect changes in the society.
In the modern era, dissidents use new platforms to spread their message and build a consensus for change. The present government of the Russian Federation has taken unprecedented steps against journalists and other members of the media as well as individuals from publishing, broadcasting on television, circulating podcasts, and communicating on Facebook.
Dissidenty.org is fundraising to help with the legal expenses of those challenged by the authorities, who are eager to “hide a war” by curtailing constitutionally guaranteed rights of a free press and to peacefully protest.We encourage the dissidents to keep circulating the truth about the war, and to let the mothers and other relatives know the extent of the casualties, which greatly exceed those killed and wounded in the final months of 1945 in the Great Patriotic War.
LEADERSHIP
The present government of the Russian Federation has resorted to the tactics of the Stalin era in suppressing opposition to its fairy tale “Pravda” and carefully scripted “fake news”.
To counter the narrative, we need brave souls to take up positions of leadership across the Russian Federation and abroad to set a new path forward. We must put an end to the needless destruction of 30 years of improved living standards enjoyed by most since the end of the USSR, with its GULAGs, disappearances, and forced resettlement of Russian and non-Russians on a whim.
Dissidenty.org is developing a leadership program, aimed at university students and mid-career professionals, as well as motivated community activists to enhance their skills through participation in our movement to change the face of leadership, and rebuild what has been lost.
HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE
Many of you visiting our website will be dissidents who fled the country after the invasion of Ukraine by Russian and mercenary forces on February 24, 2022.
We know the many challenges of being in exile, having now working bank or credit cards, and being a refugee, without status as an immigrant, able to legally work, a process which takes time.
Dissidenty.org is committed to raising funds to set up pathways to provide you with funds and employment opportunities to reestablish yourself and family outside of the Russian Federation until the leadership is changed, and the “Alice in Wonderland” war is ended.
